
Jay BeVille is in his sixth year as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Williamsburg Choral Guild. Since beginning his tenure with the Choral Guild he has lead the group in several major choral works. These include settings of the
Gloria by Vivaldi, Poulenc and Rutter, Bach’s
Magnificat in D, Rossini’s
Petite Messe Solennelle, the Mozart
Requiem and a variety of other choral selections.
Jay BeVille, a native of Virginia, is also a career music educator with over 30 years of experience. He is presently the Performing Arts Specialist for Hanover County Public Schools, located north and east of Richmond, Virginia. He holds degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and Boston University and has pursued additional studies at both Boston University and Westminster Choir College. He has worked as a soloist and choral singer under the batons of several well-known composers and conductors, such as Norman Dello Joio, Thomas Dunn, Dale Warland and George Manahann. BeVille has served as adjunct faculty in choral music for Virginia Commonwealth University and is an active clinician, adjudicator and guest conductor.
