Dan Forrest is quickly rising to a status of prominence among contemporary choral composers: he’s already won several major awards, and his compositions are regularly programmed by prominent choral conductors around the world. His music stands well on its own, with the beauty and complexity of his work leaving you wanting more. The Guild is honored to present the world premiere of a first-ever Choral Guild commission by Dan Forrest in celebration of our 35th Anniversary.

Another commission 53 years earlier of American music icon Randall Thompson saw the creation of a suite of seven poems by Robert Frost, united by a common thread, titled Frostiana. The work emphasizes the importance of the many small choices we are called to make throughout life.

Finally, we’ll take a trip to the Golden Age of Broadway with your favorite tunes from Rodgers & Hammerstein.

We will be joined in this performance by the Williamsburg Youth Chorale, a special children’s chorus established by the Guild for this occasion and prepared by Ann Porter.
