Be transported through time as you listen to three different settings of the Mass text by composers from three countries. With infectious rhythms and a folk style, Misa Criolla was the first Mass to be written in Spanish following the Vatican’s authorization of the performance of the Mass in a common language. Gloria, one of Rutter’s most ambitious concert works, is both touching and thrilling. And Requiem, the best-known masterpiece of Fauré’s large works is, according to the composer, “dominated by a feeling of faith in eternal rest.”
