The Williamsburg Youth Chorale is a treble ensemble sponsored by the Williamsburg Choral Guild and co-directed by Ann Porter and Genrose Lashinger. The Youth Chorale was formed in 2010 during the Guild’s 35th Anniversary season to bring additional focus to choral music throughout all age groups in the community. The ensemble comprises up to 40 students from grades 3 through 12.
Participation in the Youth Chorale is by invitation after a vocal interview with co-director Ann Porter. Rehearsals are currently held on Tuesday evenings, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the choir room at Bruton Parish House, directly behind the W&M bookstore in the historic area of Colonial Williamsburg.
The Williamsburg Youth Chorale will be performing with the Williamsburg Choral Guild in their spring concerts on May 6 and 7 and with the Williamsburg Women’s Chorus in their spring concert on May 16.
The fall season for WYC begins on September 18, 2017. We welcome new singers, grades 3 through 12. Contact Ann Porter for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org.
