The Williamsburg Choral Guild Young Artist Vocal Competition

Supported by the Millie Andrews Young Artist Fund

The Williamsburg Choral Guild invited applications from high school and undergraduate vocalists to participate in a young artist vocal competition and masterclass. The events took place in October, 2023.

The masterclass, led by artistic director Daniel Parks, was held on Saturday, October 14th, at 10 a.m. in conjunction with “Overture and Finale,” the Guild’s season opening concert. The winner of each category – high school and college – was awarded a cash prize of $300 and performed during the concert on Sunday, October 15th.

Online application and Video Submission were due Friday, October 6th 

Video Submission Requirements

  • Requirements
    • The applicant must be a high school or undergraduate college student.
    • The video submission must be unedited, i.e., a single take of a classical vocal solo with accompaniment.
    • Pre-recorded accompaniment or appcompanist  is allowed.
